Despite the widespread belief that electronic cigarettes are a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes, a recent study published in The Journal of Nuclear Medicine has found that their use is potentially responsible for lung inflammations.
Participants in the study were divided into three age and gender-matched groups: five e-cigarette users, five cigarette smokers, and five non-smokers. The results revealed that e-cigarette users exhibited greater lung inflammation compared to cigarette smokers. This doesn’t imply that cigarette smoking is preferable, but it highlights that the use of electronic cigarettes is still harmful!
